Children: The silent victims of poverty

It's undeniable that the globe has achieved incredible progress in the realm of development in recent years. Although some advancement has been made there are still over 700 million people living in poverty. Children are disproportionately impacted. Despite comprising one-third of the global population, they represent half of those struggling to survive on less than $1.90 a day. Children living in poverty typically lack access to basic necessities, including healthy food, clean water, safe housing, medical care, and quality education. Roughly one billion children around the world are multi-dimensionally poor, meaning they lack access to even the most fundamental resources like food and water. As a result of the spread of COVID-19, an estimated 100 million more children are living in extreme poverty. The repercussions of this are disastrous.
