Every one in four children under five suffers from undernutrition in the Africas

Malnutrition is a persistent problem in Africa, with approximately one in four children under the age of five suffering from stunted growth due to undernutrition. This is due to a lack of access to adequate nutrition and poor health care and sanitation. Malnutrition can lead to weakened immunity, and an increased risk of disease and can have long-term developmental impacts on physical and mental health.  The African continent is home to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities, and the effects of malnutrition can be devastating. Without proper nutrition, children are unable to develop properly, leaving them susceptible to a range of illnesses, including diarrheal diseases, acute respiratory infections, and malaria.  These illnesses can cause severe illness or even death if left untreated. Despite progress in the past few decades , women around the world still face numerous challenges , with pregnant women being particularly vulnerable to poverty and abuse . P regnancy can be a difficult time for women , both financially and emotionally . Many pregnant women are not able to get the healthcare and support they need , due to a lack of resources and lack of access to quality healthcare . This can lead to serious health issues , such as pre term labour and infant mortality . In addition , pregnant women are often at a higher risk of poverty , as many employers are unwilling to hire them due to their pregnancy .
